I dont understand.....WHY are these whiners so angry at the fact that some of the competetors (most likely gymnasts) either look really young or is too young...

WHAT is wrong with that!?!? Are they just jealous that the chinese competitors might look more pretty then the older competitors?? Are they jealous that someone that looks so young or is that young able to wipe the floor with the more experienced competitors??

WHAT is the big deal with them being too young!? I dont understand seriously... Dont tell me its that BS similar to how child actors should not act because their too young and it could corrupt them...or something like that...

WHY are the other countries making such a big fuss about such a small issue...shouldnt they be worrying about other athletes possibly cheating through drugs or stuff instead of the age of a couple of gymnasts...

P.S....younger is better right? The younger a girl is...the hotter? Is thats whats wrong?

  1. It's not a matter of cheating or national pride, but rather younger athlete's bodies not being fully developed in terms of skeletal and muscular development.  Those gaps in between bones are not fully held together by muscles and ligaments yet.  That's a recipe for disaster because the bones can break more easier and the muscles and ligaments can rip more easily away from the bones from not being fully attached to begin with.  That's where they get the extra flexibility, but it's painful when they go beyond that breaking point.....

Although China's athletes are born and bred to perform as top athletes in world competition, the ones that are underaged are way more fragile than a 16-18 year old performing the same apparatus and floor exercises.

  2. Because the U.S is the second and they have no face so they got really angry with it. i wonder if the Americans have so many things to complain about so why their athletes all came to China? SO Cheap!! what a sore loser~~

  3. I'm all about following the rules. Assuming He is underage. It's safer for her not to compete at this age. She is still growing, and this could have problems for her in the future. It's too much pressure for a person so young to be competing in such a huge event.

Also, it's an unfair advantage. The younger ones are more fearless, lighter on their feet and more flexible among other things. If we didn't have the age rule than other countries (not just the U.S.) could use their younger girls.

Hey, no matter how you or I or how anybody else feels, these are the rules. If you break them they must be penalized. They're there for a reason. He is great. She is a tremendous athlete, but this isn't her time.

  4. The olympic rules for gymnastics sets a minimum age requirement of 16.  These are the rules, just like not taking steroids are the rules.  They're easy to follow and have solid reasons behind them.

  5. UGH! It's because the rules in gymnastics state that the female gymnasts have to be 16 by the end of the olympic year in order to compete. so, if the chinese gymnasts are younger, that would be illegal. so it's not a matter of who's hotter! god, you're soo shallow! even, though i support the chinese, that's still breaking the rules.

  6. there are some reasons that you obviously don't know about.

    1. If the chinese girls are underage, it is cheating.

    2. The lighter the competitior, they easier it is to fly through the air. Also, younger people are more flexible.

    3. The main reason why the rule is sixteen is for the athletes safety.

When they compete, gymnasts put alot of stress on their body, and mainly their joints. They put the age at 16 for the girls because most girls are dont growing at that age, and thus, there bone and muscle structure have fully developed. A person who isnt done growing could suffer damage to their body from constant competition that could hinder further growth in both bone and muscle structure.

    4. the last reason why everybody is complaining is because they are following the rules.

And dude, i dont know about you, but I dont find the twelve year olds of the chinese girls gymnastics team hot. I dont find any twelve year olds hot.

  7. nope its cheating. there are rules that are supposed to be followed. all the countries (hopefully) are following them and china is probably not. while china uses their best gymnasts all the other countries uses their best that are 16 yrs old or older meaning they have to choose from a smaller talent pool.

@ the post below me: +1. Alicia Sacramone is frigin hot.

  8. I'm upset because china is obviously cheating and blatantly covering it up. The government is forcing these girls to lie about their ages just as it has forced them into the lives they now lead. This shows that the country of China has NO RESPECT for Olympics ideals competition rules and regulations. This is an entirely different thing than and athlete deciding on their own to take drugs. If this case is true, and there is tons of evidence that says it is, it would be government sponsored cheating by the government of China.

Honestly I don't understand what the big deal is. If she really is 16 what harm can a little investigation do? It could only serve to remove the taint that is currently on the medal. That's a good thing for He as well! duh?! I submit to you than anyone who would not want the process to continue probably has something to hide.

The gymnastics federation has determined that the age for competing in the Olympics should 16 that's that. End of story. There is no other question that needs to be asked. Arguing the merit of this rule doesn't change the rule that was in place for this competition.

It has nothing to do with "being to young" but it has to do with "breaking the rules by falsifying your age to enter into a competition that you otherwise are not allowed to compete in.

And if you think a 14 year old girl is hotter than a 16 year old you have a problem and should commit yourself. the hottest girl by far was Alicia sacrimone and she is what 20, 21?

I said this before, I had to turn it off when the Chinese girls were playing on the gym equipment. I felt like some sleazy pedophile watching an elementary school playground from a parked car across the street. I HAD to change the channel. Felt ... wrong. but boy did I ever make it back to see all those fit, toned, tight, developed, well-figured specimens of women from the other countries YOWZA!!!

Actually the press noise that started this all yesterday was from the UK, not the USA... The story had mostly died in the USA until the UK story spurred further investigation. Then it blew up again. People need to get your facts straight. The UK is the one behind this round. We already protested it before the games even started. Know your current events!!!

  9. There is an age requirement of 16, and people have become suspicious because several of the Chinese competitors don't look 16. It has nothing to do with beauty. Rules are rules.

  10. If there were indeed too young, and your condoning cheating, that's not very Olympic of you.

  11. OK - answered many times before but here is a cut and paste - you can search the answers though as the topic has been raised about 6,500 times now.

There reason the rule was implemented was to protect children. In female gymnastics there is a distinct advantage to pre-pubescent contestants. It is one of the few sports that this is the case. So what happened? In the pursuit of glory and the fact the contestants perform better as kids - government regimes would identify many children as talented, send them to military style schools, and force them to train 8 hours a day, whether they wanted to or not, from the age of 4 or 5 - thousands of them, for the sake of getting a child ready by the time they are 13 or 14 to compete. Doesn't even have to be governments regimes, but a glory seeking mother / parent - but it was based on stories from the soviet block, and the damaging impact the regime had on there bodies / education etc.

So the rule was implemented to prevent and protect against that. If you want all ages allowed - what you are actually saying is China - take many thousands of kids - train them as hard as possible until they are 13 or 14, dump most of them, select one or two - and hey - you will get a gold medal. Nice one - lets exploit kids - may as well send them to work in a sweat shop.

Also dude - if you think a pre-pubescent 12 to 14 yr old girl (menstruation, developement is often delayed due to training regimes) are hot - then go and place yourself on the s*x-offenders list before you do any damage tothe community you live in.

  12. There is something called rules if the rules aren't followed their is no integrity or honor to what people accomplish.  With your reasoning they should be able to take drugs whatever goes.

PS  - The younger the hotter makes you sound like a pedophile!!

  13. My sister is 13 and could have beaten those Chinese, but she wasn't of age and our country doesn't forge passports, do you think that's fair?

At least my sister follows the rules, you will see her in 2012.

  14. For those who will say, 'rules are rules' and 'live up to the Olympic spirit', just Google for "paul hamm Yang Tae Young"

  15. Because there might be a chance that they are 12-15 but they are suppose to be 16 in the olympics. THE CHEATING CASE

Of course gymnastics is a grueling training  sport but it worries some people with how young they are, the pressure they might be exposed to expecially from China and in the Olympics.

  16. The reason is cause there is an age requirement.. they are supposed to be 16 or older. Who cares if they are hot or not.. they need to meet the restrictions.

  17. what "other countries", its just the U.S. and they're complaining cause they can't seem to stand and only got silver.

  18. Read this: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/26337759/

Keyword: "old passport".  They have competed or trained abroad before, and it would have other countries visas in them.  Don't think that can be faked.

But I am sure the naysayers will say that it's been planned since years ago, that's why they faked the old passport too.

And my answer to that would be, who would've known years ago that which girls will have the most skill in 2008 during qualification and competition?

  19. What a dumbass.

You said you don't get why people whines over how young these chinese competitors are but at the end of your stupid post you went on to mention that there is an age rule. Jheez. So there you go, you just answered your own question.

  20. ok ... number 1.  there is an age requriement for a reason!   number 2. gymnasts are more flexible due to the fact that they havent finished growing yet and their bones are softer than a 16 or 17 year old gymnast.  number 3. the younger ones arent as afriad to do more riskier elements, b/c they havent had the "fear factor" enter their minds yet!  number 4.  younger doesnt mean less expierenced!! especially these days, while children are being picked out of their pre-k classes at age 3 in china and forced to live away from their family for the government run gymnastics facilities. children in the usa are still trying to complete sentences and decide what they want to do for extra curriculars on their own!!! thats why they call it talents, b/c not many people have that ability! but in china they are FORCING it upon these kids at too early of an age!

the reason that they whole world is making such a fuss over this issue, is b/c there is an age limit for a reason. regardless of who agrees with it or not, thats for the IOC and FIG to decide! and with the babies competing in the same events as regulation aged kids, its not fair.. frankly its cheating! and in that case... if the IOC does eventually find out that HE or the other chinese gymnasts are under age.. those gymnasts will be banned from this sport.. stripped of their medals.. which were wrongfully earned anyways! and the US would win gold.. and all  others would move up in placement! thats why it is such a big deal!

but what people dont understand.. is china's goverment pretty much rules their whole country and what they can and cannot do.. and what they will be and how many girls each family is allowed to have!!! how easy do you think it will be for the chinese gov. to change birth certificates.. passports.. id's.. anything to prove that their gymnasts are of age!!! and the only ones who will suffer here are the gymnasts who did abide by the rules!

olympics are supposed to bring the world together.. and look at what ONE country is choosing to do... to break apart that international bond, just to recieve more golds than the americans!!!!

and what also sucks... the chinese girls who fell or made mistakes or didnt place gold.. or didnt even medal... were.. or will be beaten! physically beaten!!! dont believe me... look it up... its called chinese child abuse... yahoo and you tube will have all the info you need to see that the chinese suck!

  21. I think there are Olympic rules which say that the participants must be a certain age.

  22. America whines too much and eats too many cheese burgers.

  23. Becuase there is a rule that states all athletes must be 16 to compete, I know rules don't mean much in China, but in non-communist/repressive countries we tend to follow them.  Younger athlets have a distinct advantage in gymnastics.  Forget it, your stupid question isn't worth my time.  "The younger a girl is .. the hotter." Perhaps you belong on to catch a predator instead of yahoo answers.

  24. Only the american press is making noise about it.

I think the reason is that the chinese team beat primadonnas Shawn Johnson & nastia ! !

I say suck it up & get over it

  25. because their is an age limit to even participate in the Olympics

  26. it is not fair to the other countries that followed the rules of 16 years of age. As i saw in an interview with the us coach the younger the athletes are the less pressure is put on them and the more willing they are to do dangerous tricks because they're less worried about injury. and not because they're hotter i think most people would argue that the us girls are much more attractive.

  27. IOC investigated again. They are not underage!! They provided old and new passport, birth certificate, and family resident ID. What else those whiners want?  Bela Karoyli said he can tell girl's age by looking at people's teeth! (LOL, ***!!) Ok, come to tell my age then!  By the way, I lost a tooth 10 years age when I was 26. May be the Chinese Gymnatics should protest for those WHINER'S noise!!

  28. To tell u the truth idk either and idc. and y shod others care too u no, like its easier to beat a little kid and the chinese r fantastic but i think the judges dont take points off. like they r wonderful but wen sum1 does better the judges just wave it off! So it really doesnt matter if they r yonger or sumthing wich i no they rnt becuz the gov. has checked but i care if the points r awarded fairly

  29. You obviously do not know anything about gymnastics and its rules.

By the way, cheating is not a small issue.
