  1. You can't apply for citizenship, because you're not a permanent resident.

You have no basis to apply for a social security number either. A social security card alone is not proof that you are allowed to work in the US anyway.

I suggest you read form I-9 at http://www.uscis.gov/i-9 so you know what you need to show an employer in order to be allowed to work legally in the US.

But since, considering your status, you are not eligible to apply for anything, you are stuck with two options: go home, or remain as an illegal for the rest of your life. If you try to apply for anything, you may be arrested on the spot and deported.

You could have, and should have sought to legalize your situation before you turned 18, or shortly after you turned 18. Now there's nothing anybody can do.

  2. Well Many People here in Los Angeles buy bootleg documents to work and lie about their experience and got to job agencies where they wont check your SSN and they get hired most people get Licenses like Forklift because OSHA doesnt Really require a SSN and they get paid 10-$22and Hour.....The other way if your not from mexico or any other country who has populated this country with illegal immigrants they enter a Permanent Resident Lottery but you need a High School Diploma/GED

or 2 years work experience... I heard from many Lawyers that their might be a immigration reform for the already 11 million people that are here in the USA but only some will apply for it because you need proof of how long you been living here if you entered the US legally and over stayed your visa you might have a bigger chance of becoming legal i had a friend that came here Illegaly  and  in 1991 when he was 1yr old and now has his green card and SSN and is a Security officer ......just dont give up hope or just marry you girlfriend if you have one or something

  3. Sheesh, you guys are harsh.....

Find another job that pays cash(painting, construction, a restaurant that you only make tips at) or like someone above said, take the citizenship test, study first though.

It's not his fault his mom brought him here illegally.

  4. You won't be able to apply for a SS card without proper documentation like birth certificate, etc. and even if you do receive a SSN, your card will say "Not authorized for employment".  So it's virtually useless for employment purpose anyway.

Your best bet would be to go back to country of origin and finish college, get a good job, gain work experience and once you've been there for 10 years, try to apply for a position here in the states and get your employer to petition you for an H1B visa.

  5. Go to the Latino Chamber of commerce in your city.  They will advise you, for free.

  6. There's a reason why they call it ILLEGAL Immigration.  Get yourself into a legal status or go home.

  7. then go the social security office and tell them about your case. I am sure they will help you probably.

  8. Sad story. Unfortunately, you're still illegal. You can't get a SSN.

  9. it looks like you had time to straighten it out but you couldn't/ didn't. On top of that g*y marriage is not federal. the best you can/ do is to go Home and make the best you can out of that experience.

  10. LEAVE!

  11. I can sympathize with you since you did not come here by your own choice and by now you are just like any American young man, speaking English etc.  However the immigration laws are getting tighter and it will be hard for you to get a job without SSN.  There are not too many options to become legal, you would need to get sponsored by a spouse or close relative (mother, father, sibling) or thru employment.  I would highly suggest finding an immigration attorney in your area to see what your best options are, besides going back to yoour home country.  I understand that paying attorney's fees may be difficult, so try locating a firm that does pro bono (free) work or any immigration group in your area that helps people with immigration issues.  Check your local paper, browse the internet or contact local Bar Association in your city.  I hope all works out for you, good luck!

  12. Apply for citizenship and request a social security card from the social security administration.

  13. Go Home. (illegal aliens cant apply for U.S citizenship, NO citizenship = NO SSN)

try to return to the U.S. legally

  14. Sorry, go home to your own country, OUR LEGAL CITIZENS NEED YOUR JOB.

  15. Your here illegally. Sounds like you had time to straighten it out, but you didn't.

    Tough luck.

  16. Go back to the country of your birth and apply legally. If your arrested for anything in some states an immigration hold will be placed on you and you will be deported and not allowed to apply for 10 years.

  17. hey man i'am going through the same thing just about. You can apply for permanent residency. If your mom is a resident? is so she can apply for you to be here. What is her situation? It will take 5 years if she can apply for you. If she can't it takes up to ten years. During your 5 year or ten year wait you can petition for a temperately visa with will allow you to work till everything works out. For a 5 year wait its at least 3 years and for a 10 year its either 6 or 7 years. You can go to college but it has to come out of pocket. I was told that c**p for a year. I finally found that the college just makes a number for you. Also you can apply for scholarships that do not require ssn. Find another job in the mean time.  if you have any questions just message me.

Don't listen to these people they don't have any idea about this subject but by just what they are told in the media.

  18. Why don't you take the citizen test and become a citizen?
