I dont have any photo id can i travel using my drivers permit?

  1. I'd recommend using your driver's permit only if it has your photo on it - my state's driver's permits come with photos, but I guess that's not the norm for all states.

    I'd suggest getting a photo I.D. if you can; it'd save a lot of time and explanations at security.


  2. I flew from OH to WA twice this year using my temporary permit. I flew using skybus once and southwest two times (I'm flying back to OH on northwest soon). I brought my birth certificate this time because I went into Canada but you might as well bring it with you (better to be safe than sorry). You could bring your SS card also, if you want.

    It should be fine seeing as when I was at security they didn't ask me any questions or anything, they just sent me through.

    You just have to have a state ID with a picture. Make sure your temps won't expire anytime soon either. A school ID won't get you through because it's not state issued.

  3. Ok best way to do this is just use you passport but most people dont have one. Plan B is yes bring your permit but also bring like a student ID or something just something with your name on it and a picture. I lost my ID once when i had to fly and i got threw with a Student ID and birth Certificate
