  1. bindings are the things that strap u in the board any .... ride is a really good snowboard make and burton is great too!!!!!!!

  2. Binding are the thing that you strap or snap your feet in to, and I would say one of the best types of boards are burtons.  If you are gonna start be sure to stay on an edge of the board, either the toe or heels, if you do not you will bust your face. Hope I helped

  3. First thing you should do - book yourself some lessons. Most instructors are really happy to help you get to know what you need. They'll also help you determine your stance - left or right foot forward. As for equipment, don't buy any. Yet. You might love the idea of snowboarding now, but you might hate it after trying it a while. It can be very physically enduring to learn, not to mention frustrating when you keep falling down.

If you book yourself some lessons, you'll get rental kit with them (usually) so I would recommend that. If you do decide to buy some stuff, I would recommend Burton or LibTech. My first board was a LibTech Phoenix, love it, and Burton Custom Bindings (the bits that strap your feet into the board). Burton make pretty good boots too, as do Saloman.

Also, for the love of god don't mismatch. Bindings (more than boots) are made for specific styles of riding, and can be cutomised. Playing around with mismatched sets will leave you with painful feet, bad riding skills (if any) an a sore behind.

  4. For your first time I highly recommend renting your equipment and signing yourself up for a lesson.  Don't make the financial commitment until you've tried it!

Bindings are the hardware that attach to your board that you use to attach it all to your feet.

You can buy pretty much any board and bindings that you can afford or want and they'll work fine with each other.  Burton boards and bindings have different patterns for the binding screws than most boards but you can buy a different insert for the bindings to adapt it.

If you do decide you like boarding you'll want to spend at the high end of your budget on boots and then bindings and then don't go nuts on the board.  Boots are something that will probably last you longer than a season and will make a bigger difference for a beginner.  Bindings will adapt to other boards so that's worth making an investment on but the board is pretty easily changed.
