  1. Just right-click on "My Computer" ..... click on "Properties" ..... under the General tab .... look at the bottom ....where its written "Computer : " .....

There is your Motherboard, processor speed and size of RAM.

Now go to "My Computer" and right-click on a drive and click properties. Note down its Capacity.....do this to all the drives you have and add them up .... you'll get what is called "Capaity of your Hard Disk".

    (1000 MB = 1 GB)

  2. You can identify the motherboard a lot of ways, usually they're marked with the model in between the PCI slots on the board.  Hard drive capacity you can see if you go to start->run and type diskmgmt.msc in windows XP, in any other windows version you can also right click on the disk and click "properties".

  3. go to system configuration  when the computer boots up by pressing specific key.... it will be mentioned when the computer starts in  a black screen

  4. What you mean by "identifying" your motherboard? In case that you need model number of the motherboard than the simplest solution is to open the cover of the system block and to see it for yourself (usually it is located somewhere between the north and the south bridge chips). Now about the hard disk. You can format it even from windows (in my computer right-click on the drive and choose "format"), or if you didn't installed windows yet, put your operating system installation CD/DVD and  check the drive capacity when the system will ask you to install the partitions
