  1. If your worried about rules search soccer rules on google

  2. here look at this it should help explain the game and answer any questions you might have.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soccer

there are also links within the article that will take you to other articles and explain other topics about football (soccer)

  3. Hi!

The important thing to say is don't panic. Extreme nerves will only make you play worse. So just relax and don't put too much pressure on yourself- go out and try to enjoy it.

That said, if your game is on Thursday you still have enough time to practice so you can make the most of the next couple of days. Try to learn some of the basic skills like passing, dribbling and tackling- first by reading about them then by practicing what you've picked up. If you're interested in getting some of these skills in a short space of time then try http://www.how2playsoccer.com/soccerskil... for step by step guides on how to do various things. Don't worry, there's a lot to take in so just pick a couple of things to start with.

As for knowing the positions your half way there. If you've definitely decided you don't want to be a goalie or a defender then you only have two options left: midfielder or striker. The striker's job is to score the goals either by shooting or heading and the midfielder can set up attacks to feed the strikers or drop back and help the defenders to prevent goals. If you'd like to read a more detailed piece on the roles and requirements of these positions then visit http://www.how2playsoccer.com/soccerposi... as this may be quite helpful.

Whilst I've said all this, I realise you only have a few days to practice so just do what you can. Then you'll have less reason to worry. But my first piece of advice still applies, just go out there and try to relax and be confident and I'm sure you'll impress yourself with what you know and can do!

Good luck and I hope it all goes well!

  4. The first rule of soccer is that it's called FOOTBALL.

  5. these are the different positions there are goalie, defender, right forward, left foward, right mid-fielder, and left mid-fielder. oh i forgot there is right and left mid fielders and there is center for defense and mid-fielders

  6. Hey there!

Don't be afraid the coach wouldn't put you on the team if he didn't see potential. Chances are there are some other people who aren't too familiar with the game either. Your team can help you out a lot. THe more you continue to do it the easier you will find it. Up in front are the forwards; their goal is to shoot goals and get the ball when the keeper(goalie) kicks the ball. Next is Midfield. If you are mid you have to have a lot of stamina. You'll be running up and down the field. You play a bit offense and defense. You know about defense--defend the goal. Goalies--I'm sure you get it. There are of course a lot of technicalities that you need to learn in time, but they'll come. Coaches usually look for improvement not the actual excellence. Give it your all and don't be afraid to get aggressive (legally of course), and lastly don't feel discouraged; just ask a question. It won't happen overnight, but once you get your first whiff of success you'll be begging for more.
