my ex was adopted and never met his real parents. he told me he is domican and a whole lot of other things but i asked if he was black and he said no.. he is very very tan. his friends told me he doesnt know what he is because he is adopted. what will my babys race be?! can he not know his race bc hes adopted? i havent spoken to him since the pregnancy and he has another gf.. but when we first started dating i casually asked his race and hes like domican and spanish and stuff. any help?

  1. he can take a blood test 2 see but he probably wont bcause ur pregnant and he has a new gf

  2. Well if he is dominican then you can at least count on the baby being half hispanic. It is possible that he does not know what his actual ethnicity is if he was adopted because his parents either did not state their race on the papers,or he was left and there was no contact with the parents at all so there would be no sure way of knowing.

  3. your baby will be beautiful :) and if he is unsure he can take a blood test. but if he said he is dominican and spanish then thats probably what he is!

  4. Black Dominican.

  5. Hes Black

  6. he should know like his adoptive parents should have it on paper ... um that's hard and con fussing umm... maybe you may never know he has to know before you do hes the only one with that answer regardless you'll pro bally have a very beautiful child

  7. when it comes down to writing this down on paper at the hospital.. the baby is YOUR race..not the dads..

but you can always just say he is hispanic and it kinda covers his fathers' race..

i did with my son.. his is italian, hungarian and hispanic..

  8. You're baby would be bi-racial.

His adoptive parents should know what his race is as it would've been in his information.

But I would assume your ex is Hispanic

  9. well then hes probably dominican.. dominicans arent all LIGHT SKINNED .. latinos(dominicans) can be white , tanned , dark etc.. its just in us ; ).. how about you ask him!!!!!!!! good luck

  10. Yeah, Dominican isn't Black.  They are both very dark people, but you wouldn't refer to him as Black.  And it IS possible to not know exactly what race he is. I'm adopted and what I say is "As far as I know" when responding to questions about my race.  I was born in Korea, and am 99% sure that I am full Korean, but because I'm adopted, I can't be 100% sure. :)  It's always fun to think up stories though. lol

  11. The Dominican Republic has a multiracial heritage. Dominicans generally prefer to ignore their African heritage, and focus on their European and indigenous (native Indian) heritages, but they often have a mix of all three.

  12. Dominican can mean that he does have african genes. My partner is fully spanish but still very dark, he thinks it's because there is someone of african descent somewhere down the line which is common in places around dominican republic and also alot of central and south america. There were even alot of Turkish settlers at one stage too!! Just say he is a fruit salad!! most of us are these days
