  1. ask for a single  ddr pc3200 1 gig module

either keep the  256  ram module or chuck  it  that way you stil have  a  slot free for later upgrades and you dont need to remove half  your ram  when you plan to upgrade again

btw there are no  500 mb modules  just  512 mb  ones

  2. You just answered your own question.  You ask for DDR PC3200 (1 gig), but take in your computer name and model.  There should be a tab that has your computers information.  If you don't know what you are doing or how to install the memory, just take it with you.  Best buy usually installs it for free.  Make sure they test it before you leave the store.

  3. Look for PC3200 (also known as DDR 400 as it runs at 400mhz)

  4. me to my ram is ddr 3200 go to frys or any kind of elctronic place but i perfer frys because cause they give u 2 sticks of ram for the price of 1 and put ddr 3200 in the search bar and it gives u the type of ram u could get.

  5. Get 2 1GB DDR PC3200. You can great great deals on newegg.com

  6. Ask for two 500MB DDR PC3200.

You generally want to keep the same size ram in each slot.

  7. Shows that you have dual channel support. Only one stick of 256 in one slot and, since it says you have one slot available that would mean you only have 2 slots. I would yank that one stick out and buy a "1 GB kit" of DDR PC3200. That would be 2 sticks of 512. I suggest you not run a 256MB stick in one channel and a 1GB stick in the other channel of a dual channel board. Just run a 512MB stick in each slot. Then you wont have to deal with the different latencies, voltage requirements and lopsided sizes of running the 2 different sized sticks. Will make your computer happier and it will run smoother. Assuming you have a hyper-threaded P4 you may have to go into bios and turn on hyper-threading, dual channel etc( terminology differs per board) May want to look for a deal on a 2 GB kit too(2X1GB)
