  1. Put it this way - Duchess was one of three up until recently.  She's now on her own.  You say there have been family problems, and you are probably upset yourself at the loss of two of your pets.  Double whammy.  She's not used to being on her own, canine-wise, she's picking up on your vibes, plus she's probably pining too.  Basically she's a mixed up dog and she needs lots of reassurance that life will settle down again, and that you are not going to leave her - her only anchor.  With a bit of stability returning, she will adjust.  But give her time.

  2. call your vet, your dog likely has some psychological problems.

  3. Do you have an old blanket of kahluas that you could give to duchess. She is just missing  the company and pining.. Try giving her a cuddly toy in her bed this might comfort her as well. Good luck.

  4. Yeah, your dog is depressed.

  5. Your dog had bonded with Kahlua.  She is lonely and misses her friend.  You need to do more with her since she doesn't have her friend to keep her happy.  Take her for walks, do some fun training exercises.  Play fetch.  A tired dog is a happy dog.  If you keep her active she will be happier and will bond with you, which is what she is trying to do by following you everywhere.  Dogs are pack animals and need to have companionship, whether their people or another dog.  They do not do well alone.

  6. dont ever get rid of a dog, especially if you have 2.

  7. Just spend more time with her.

Lots of cuddles while you are watching TV or something or you could try getting another dog so at least she would have some company.

    Send her my love.

  8. work with animals-- seriously, what you need to do is get her outside and exercise her...whether that means she's running around the yard or your walking her and playing her. If you can get her outside and busy for at least an hr a day she will feel much better. Animals do get separation anxiety & depression. So, exercise through play or in general will help most definitely. Let her play til she wares out. It's what she needs.

  9. Duchess is anxious and missing her friend.  You are the only constant in her life and she is feeling scared.  Try taking a little extra time with her and don't rush her.  Be calm and patient - hopefully, with time, she will settle into her new routine and situation.  Plus, German Shepherds are essentially "work" dogs and she may need more stimulation and activity.  Just some thoughts.

  10. She probally worried that your gonna leave her as well.  Dogs aren't used to change.

  11. she's sad : ( nothing much you can do. Just give her time
