This might seem like a stupid question, But.

I never been to a public school, I was always homeschooled.

I know some kids in public school from playing sports and stuff

But, I'm not worried about making friends

I'm more worried about, Taking notes and finding myself around, And knowing where my classes are.

I'm going to public school in the 2nd semester.

Will they, Show me around?, so i'll know myself around?.

Or, Will i have to learn myself?, How will i know where to go? and when?.

is there a schedule or something? please tell me ALL i need to know about going to public school, I'm in 10th grade. also.

  1. dn't worry it sok

  2. Oh my gosh you sound like me, I'm doing homeschool right now and I have been since the fifth grade. But in december I'm going to be back in school again (9th grade now) but in the second cemester you know... when everybodys already ajusted and now I'm the new kid. All my friends quit talking to me when I joined homeschool but I have great online friends from an internet school I went to I can't really answer you're question because I have your problems but atleast you know you're not alone anymore.

  3. Can you ask for a quick tour of the school when you enroll? I would think that someone in the office could spare a new kid a few minutes to do that. I know at least at the high school I went to their were student assistants who could do that.

  4. You get a schedule and then you ASK questions of those who have been there at least one year.

  5. Ask for a tour of the school by the secretary or a classmate. that should give you an idea of where things are. as to making friends, just act all cool. No need to be nurveous, (What's the worst that can happen? The cops?) And once you set your personallity, people will just start hanging around you. (Plus, these days, If you're a girl, no need to worry about boys. There's got to be one out of the hundred or so looking for someone like you.) Well, that's all I know. Hope this helps and have a great day! -question001

  6. That's something that was always scary, even for kids who were used to public school. I always had a fear before each new year that I would get lost, and not be able to find my class, or not be able to make new friends. I even had dreams about it, and now that I'm going to college, I have the SAME fears and dreams, and I'm 28! They will give you a written schedule either on or before your first day. If by the first day, you don't have a schedule yet, just go streight to the offie and they will give you one. If you can't find the office, just ask anyone and they will tell you where it is. The rooms have numbers, and, like street addresses, you can tell if you are far or near the right room by how close the numbers on the rooms are to the number you are looking for. Also, there are usually signs at every hall that say "rooms 101- 200" with an arrow, or something like that, but probably someone will help you, and again, if you can't find your way, just ask someone. Other than that, the teacher will tell you everything you need to do, so as long as you listen to her, you will be fine. As for making friends, my advice is, try to avoid the "fake" people, the people who seem to preocupied with trying to be popular, because, even if you make friends with them, they are liable to back stab you anyway. Make friends with the genuinely nice people, and, don't worry, in my expirience there are plenty of such pple, and they will be much more likely to be real friends. Get involved in as many activities as your interests and time management skills will allow, and try to relax. :)
