  1. Well, you don't have to choose between just those two.

If you get a bachelor's degree (from college) in almost anything, you can teach English in Japan -- and many other Asian countries. If you get your degree in English, or some sort of teaching English as a foreign language, you can teach English just about anywhere.

I have a friend who taught high school in France, and now she's teaching elementary school kids and jr. high school kids in Japan. (-: She could go anywhere next!

I was quiet and shy in school, but teaching English in Japan helped me break out of my shell. I think in many ways, my job is like giving a daily performance (or maybe five daily performances, depending on how busy the day is!!).

Psychology courses are always going to be good for you, so no matter what you decide to major in, try and take a few. If you really like them, you can go on to be a psychologist later.

  3. you do not ever have to pick one of those or any for that matter... thats the beauty of being an adult, you can change your mind. even if you start college as one major, you can change. dont feel like you have to pick one today and stick with it forever. you can do one job for a few years and go back to school later for a different degree. spend a semester or two in college just taking alot of classes that interest you and see what feels right. I started as a biology major and could not see a future for it, so changed to anthropology (which I knew nothing about until I took an introduction course in it my first semester and loved it) but i realized i did not see a future in it either, so i changed to music education and now i am happy with only one year left and ready to start working... but ive never lost my love of biology or anthropology and even am considering going back to school to major in science again after i finish my music degree. learn as much as you can on as many different topics as you can. knowledge can never hurt. and never feel stuck. you make your own happiness!

  4. If you're that unsure about what you want for your career in life, you should go to a school psychologist who can do testing and is qualified to make that kind of recommendation.

The general public here at Yahoo Answers isn't capable of answering your question the way you want it answered.

Also, please remember that those to occupations are not mutually exclusive.  Much of what you study for one works for the other and you can change professions later in life.  Many of us do.
