Question:

I dont know where to begin but i want to start a green screen video but i dont know where to start?

like i want to record my self running the marothon over nyc with my cam ( it's a canon dvd camcorder dc210) but dont know how to start it any help???????

  1. A green screen is a composite of 2 video pictures. One is a background picture, which in your case would be generic shots of NYC streets. The other is the foreground subject shot in a studio against a solid green color wall, aka the runner.  You overlay both tracks into a computer software editing program which looks first at the foreground picture and wherever it sees green, switches to the background image.

    you camera will work for the background track, because that is not particularly critical. unfortunately the forground image (the green screen one) must be sharp and uncompressed to work. in the analog days, only a live studio camera could be used, however some digital videotape formats have sufficient uncompressed detail that they can be used. MPEG2 compressed video does not qualify. It can be done with miniDV with some success.
