  2. Try writing a list of positive things that have happened to you.  Find someone who you can help in some way. If you focus on things that are outside of yourself then you have less time to think about how you feel.

    make a listen of things that make you happy, simple things, like a sunny day or a walk in the park, and go do them!

  5. If you do not know why you're sad, a professional can probably help.  If a situation has made you sad, it's still fine to see a counselor to help move through that at a reasonable pace.

    Not knowing what's causing could be a simple chemical balancing process that a doctor can manage with medication, which can be taken for a short time, or if needed, safely for a longer period.

    Do not be afraid to talk to a doctor.  Call the non-emergency police number if you become afraid, and they'll get you help, in a really nice way.  They have now been trained to deal with this stuff fairly nicely.  But, you may also call NAMI, Mental Health America, DBSA...check our their webpages online... they deal with all kinds of feelings, especially those which don't seem to have a direct, external cause.    Your info will be confidential.
