  1. well u should not have a health vistor up2 8 weeks which is what i pessume your baby is. Before you have the babies jab done they are supposed to have a 6-8 week check up with a DOCTOR Some people do have jabs at home but it depends if you had a problem and asked the health vistor to stay on if not go to you gp and get it done by a nurse.

  2. I dont think it is normal for immunisations to be given at home, its normally done at the clinic

  3. All immunisations must be done at a clinic in case an allergic reaction happens and access to a doctor can be gained.

  4. Immunisations can be given at home especially if the mother has failed to attend a clinic.

If you have a problem with this particular Health Visitor you need only call the practice and ask for another HV to be assigned to you and your child. The HV can only insist on entering your home without your consent if she has concerns your child may be at risk and she would need to involve the local Child Protection team to do this.

If she calls to make an appointment tell her outright you do not want to see her. Tell her you will be happy to meet with one of her collegues. If she shows up on your doorstep without an appointment you can tell her you don't want to see her and ask her to leave. Again tell her you will be willing to see one of her colleagues.

It's unusual for community staff to oshow up without an appointment and would usually only happen if appointments have been broken by the client causing the professional to have some concern.

I suspect you have broken appointments or failed to attend clinics in the past so your HV is being proactive. She needs to know you are not preventing your child from receiving the health care it needs but are avoiding her personally.

  5. I had the same problem with mine - I phoned the local Health Authority and complained about her (she was rude and intrusive - kept calling me and showing up unannounced and making rude remarks - I almost felt she was spying on us).

They were really helpful and arranged for her to stop coming - they gave me the name and number of a different Health Visitor who I could contact if I wanted any advice, this one is lovely and never calls me - I've called her twice just for advice and she's so much nicer than the other old hag.

  6. Then you must have your reasons.

Contact your doctor and ask to have someone else, Tell him you feel uncomfortable and give your reasons why.

You don't have to let her in your home if you don't want to,  ask for her contact details and ring her superior.

if you can't cancel the visit have someone in your home at the time as a witness and don;t let her do anything without checking with your doctor first.
