ok so i dont get it, a plane traveling at speeds at least 600 miles and hour is slower or faster than the rest of the world. Could somone expand on this. How can we move forward in time. somone said that we would experience slow motion if we were at the speed of light, why? Wouldnt everything be a big fast blur like driving a car?

  1. "Wouldnt everything be a big fast blur like driving a car?"

Yes, kind of like on star wars when they go through warp speed. this is what happens. did you see the segment on Einstien tonight too?

  2. EDIT -

I just realised what a question this is.

You say time travel violates conservation of mass law. It violates EVERYTHING...well...pretty  much.

Are you aware what you're asking? You're asking what happens and what you would see when a person does something that CANNOT BE DONE!

  3. Ok. Firstly, we cannot move forward in time faster than we already are (as in, for each 60 seconds you sit at the computer, one minute passes [sorry if that is confusing]). Also, we cannot move backward in time. If we could travel at precisely the speed of light, time would stop completely in our eyes, but the light would not reach us from behind (obviously, as we are travelling as quickly as it is). Also, the doppler effect would be significant (Anyone?).

  4. don't worry, it takes some time to get a grip on relativity. several years after publishing his general theory of relativity einstien remarked that there were only three people in the world who understood his theory, and one of them was lying.

oh, and btw, it is the general theory of relativity that you are referring to, the special theory of relativity was an earlier draft of the general theory that did not take into account gravity.

keep reading, keep thinking, keep asking, and you will understand it one day.
