The best way to learn coding is to take it easy and start making very basic games... like tic tac toe.  A Very powerful and easy to learn language is darkbasic.  check it out at http://darkbasic.thegamecreators.com/

There is a lot books also. Some for dark basic and lot others for different languages. I recommend picking one up, and taking it slow.
