I dont understand the movie 'the matrix'?

I do not understand this movie very much at all. could anyone give me a basic explanation of what exactly the matrix is and all that.

The Matrix itself is a computer program that we (the humans) "live" in. It was built by the robots of the future in the great war between the humans and robots. The robots designed the matrix so that we would think that everything with the world is all right. Another thing is is that in the scene where Neo first awakens in the Matrix, did you notice all of the other pods with bodies in it? Well the robots are using the unconscious humans for a power source.

So the reason that Neo awakens is because there are a few humans in Zion who escaped the Matrix one way or the other. They then go into the Matrix via telephone line and there ship the Nebuchadnezzar and convince Neo to come with them to the real world.

Furthermore, the Agents who patrol the Matrix, and Morpheus and his crew can manipulate the Matrix because they know it is not real. So they can do things like have super speed and the ability to stop bullets.

Also, Neo is the chosen one who is the only one who can save Zion. That is why they need him.

That is basically the first movie in a nut shell.

Neo is a pasty white guy that saves everyone. Basically, it's the flip side of the terminator, and Neo is really John Connor.

Basically, the world that we are living in is actually a virtual software created by aliens to make sure we are unable to use our actual body. Our mind is immersed in the fame world and it is possible to defy the laws of that world if we realize that we are actually in a software. Leo is supposed to be able to do that and is humanities only hope to awaken.

well, this is one of those trilogies that you need to see them all to really explain it. It really gets explained in 2nd one (matrix reloaded). All three are really just one big movie. Basically, in the future, the world is run by machine, and all humans are harvested underground. They are born and hooked up to a computer system. All the humans are asleep, but they are hooked up to an artificial world that is programmed in there heads. To them, they think they are living everyday lives, when in actuality they are in a coma and basically dreaming the whole thing. That world is called the Matrix. It's basically a computer program.

Well its sci-fi.. it says its all a simulation like a game.. the worl that u perceive and see is not reality but its virtual, programmed.. and that virtual world is referred as matrix in the movie...

well if you know the concept of multiplayer games then may be you can understand it better..I tried relating it that ways and could start making out some sense put of it now.
