  1. Yes, talk to your parents and explain why you don't want to have that teacher again.  They probably already have a good idea that you aren't learning much from that teacher.  Also talk to the person at school who sets up your class schedule.  I'd also find out why  you have to take Commerce as an elective.  Electives should be your choice, not a "have to".  Do you have a teacher at school who is your advocate or homeroom teacher that you can also talk to about your class schedule?

I also suggest taking care of it now instead of waiting until school starts.  It might be more difficult to change your schedule once school starts.

  2. Teachers in schools, what next, I always thought that in school you do as you're told, "School is not a democracy!" the words still give me wobbles as I remember how they exploded from the mouth of my math teacher. School is not forever, so knuckle down do the work and then move on, It is not a popularity contest, teachers are there to teach not to be your friend, it's not rocket science. Enjoy the experience because you may look back in years to come and realise that school was the best years of your life.

  3. I think it would be rare for one teacher to teach both geography and commerce, so it seems unlikely to me that she would be the teacher you would get for the commerce class.  However, I agree with the other poster.  Why do you "have" to have a particular elective?  Is it the only thing which fits your schedule?  Otherwise, the whole point of an elective is that it is your choice.

If you do get this teacher, you could try to see if it is possible to switch to another class instead of the commerce class.  If it is, you will be fine.  If not, then you need to realize that there are times when we have to do things which may not be ideal.  In most high schools, you would be lucky if you only had one bad teacher.  I had many of them.  You just do the best you can with them and then move on.
