The Barcelona full-back Daniel Alves spoke about his contract during a press conference. The Brazilian right back stated:
“I don’t want to leave. I don’t want to go into it too much, I just want to focus on the day to day and do my job. I’ll not play any worse because I’ve not signed a renewal, I’ll be equally professional whether I’ve signed or not”.
The Barcelona full back, who has featured in the highest number of games for Barcelona this season, has stated his desire to stay in the club. There were many speculations surrounding his contract renewal as the Catalan club were finding it hard to offer

Currently, Barcelona are performing at their best while being under their Catalan coach Josep Guardiola. They have managed to keep an all-winning away record this season and Daniel Alves believes that there is still room to improve. The Brazilian right back
said:
“This team has no ceiling to its improvement. We’ve been showing on the pitch how we’ve got better. We found it hard to finish games off at the start of the season. Now we are on a great run, though we have to keep our feet on the ground.”
Daniel Alves said that he knows the fact that it is difficult to win another six trophies just like in 2009 but, he insisted, that it was not impossible. He said that with such a strong squad with amazing individual talent and also great team play, nothing
is impossible. He said that currently the team is in great form and nothing is going to distract them until they are working hard.
The Brazilian also spoke about the winter break that they are going to get after the Atletic Bilbao clash. He stated that with the break coming their way, it is going to be easy for them to rest so they can fill up their tanks in order to continue playing
for the next six months. However, he kept stressing the fact that his team-mates will have to keep their hard work and humility intact.
Josep Guardiola spoke about the team’s performance after the Espanyol game. The Catalan coach acknowledged that the whole team plays as one unit. Later, Daniel Alves also agreed to his coach as he spoke about the team’s solidarity and said:
“It’s down to all of us, both when we attack and we defend. We are all prepared to make a special effort. The squad is an example of how to work together. This is a collective game and we all need each other.”
Daniel Alves was also keen about the upcoming cup game that Barcelona are going to be a part of right before the New Year. Daniel Alves explained that even though the game looked to be important as they were to face Atletic Bilbao, it is not going to sum
up the decision as the other leg is going to be played in 2011. He was also questioned about the absence of the Atletic Bilbao star striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fernando-Llorente-c13671. The Brazilian defender stated that he knows that “Llorente” is a key player for the team he is going
to face but he clearly told the fans that “Bilbao are more than just him.”
