I don’t want to lose three Ashes in a row, says http://www.senore.com/Cricket/BW-Hilfenhaus-c1204 – Cricket News Update
The Australian fast bowler, Ben Hilfenhaus, is geared up for the Ashes 2013 and expressed that he does not want to lose against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 for the third time in a row.
The Poms have won the previous two Ashes’ as http://www.senore.com/Cricket/AJ-Strauss-c964 and company outclassed the Kangaroos in 2009 and then in 2010-11. Ashes is the most historic and valued Test battle and players from both the sides give it more importance than any other competition.
The Aussies dominated against the British in 1990s and early 2000s, before the Poms re-emerged as a major cricketing force after their Ashes triumph in 2005, which was played in England.
The arch-rivals are currently playing a five-match One Day International (ODI) series in England, with the home team leading 2-0.
Hilfenhaus, who played the last two series, feel that the Australians have a score to settle and the team is eager to prevent England from completing a hat-trick of victories.
"I've lost two Ashes series now. I definitely don't want to be a part of a third losing one that's for sure, and I think there are a lot of blokes who feel exactly the same way," the fast bowler expressed.
Since making his Test debut in 2009, the Tasmanian has been in and out of the national team, although he been a match-winner on occasions. The right-arm fast bowler hopes to be a part of the squad for the next Ashes, so that he can make amends for the last
two defeats.
He is in the ODI squad as well but has not been given an opportunity yet in the on-going series. The 29-year-old is optimistic about his team’s chances of squaring the series by winning the last two fixtures and expressed that playing against England in
itself is a great motivation for the Aussies.
Hilfenhaus said, “You always love to beat the Poms. We didn't have the ideal start to the one-day series and I think in the last two games of the series we're definitely going to show them what we are made of, that we are the No.1 team in the world. It's
nice to be playing in these conditions.”
