ok im 21... im gonna start studying again but im going to do one of those online degree in ou (modern languages)... the question i want to ask everyone is that i have no idea what i want to do right now...

i have 2 choices and there both very good... i can either start looking for a career so by the time im 30 im on a good salary would probably have a house and preety much be settled... The other choice is go and travel for 4/5 years work abroad probably tefl and come back to the UK and then look for a career when im 26/27yrs.... but then again is that too late?? will i regret it if i dont travel?? im so confused

it would be good to get some answers from some-one who is between 21 to 40 and tell me whether you regret not traveling and you worked all your life? or you did travel and your now working?

thanks

  1. Travel. Who knows what you might find out there - you might be in the middle of Zanzibar and go into business running a sea-front bar and make millions or you might hook up with some interesting characters in a backwater of Thailand and start your own import/export business.

With OU you can always pick it up later wherever you are in the world (I'm thinking about doing one now and I am a *lot* older than you having travelled and now made a successful business abroad).

After all, when you are 30 and living in some semi-detached house with a wife and kid and a mortgage do you think you'll be envious of those FaceBook entries from your former school friends who are in China or Greece or Morocco?

Remember, we only regret the things we don't do... so I say go for the option which is slightly scary!!
