http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MS-Dhoni-c2028, the Indian skipper, has come out in defence of Duncan Fletcher, the team’s coach, and said that he does not want to play the blame game, while asking the players to take the responsibilities of their recent performances

The Men in Blue were the number one ranked Test team of the world when the former http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 coach took over the side; however, their ranking has significantly deteriorated after eight consecutive Test defeats away from home.
With the Indian team presently struggling to deliver the goods in the series against England at home, a number of former cricketers have slammed the foreign coach, asking the BCCI to sack him.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/R-Dravid-c2229, the former India captain, who retired from international cricket earlier this year, believes that Fletcher is under pressure to perform as he joined the Indian team with a lot of expectations.
“I think his reputation is on the line as well. I think, knowing someone like him, he would want to get more involved and have a say in where his own career and his own reputation is headed,” Dravid said.
The Indian skipper however, does not feel that the coach is entirely responsible for the team’s poor performances at the ultimate stage of the game in the last 18 months. The wicketkeeper/batsman thinks that international cricket demands
the players to go out there and do their job instead of relying on the coaching staff.
“We can't put the blame on http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Duncan-Andrew-Gwynne-Fletcher-c54742. We should not really look into excuses and try not to play the blame game and put it on the coach. Ultimately what matters is how the 11 players perform in the middle,” Dhoni feels.
The Men in Blue are currently fighting hard to square the series by winning the on-going Nagpur Test, which is extremely crucial for the home team’s morale as their next series is against the arch-rivals, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755.
