  1. Yes good old soap and water for the wallpaper, but for the paint - dont paint over old paint it will be a boj job. Use some rough sandpaper then some fine, sand the whole lot, it will take time but you have to live there and it eill make it look beautiful after youve finished the painting and for what £1.50 or less.

  2. If you are doing this yourself you are going to save a good bit of money on labor.  As far as not spending any more money on materials that is not possible.  I have tools that I use to work on my older truck on occassion they are Sears Craftsman tools, I paid a higher price for them.  They carry a lifetime warranty.  If you want something you have to pay for it, you can purchase many of your home improvement items from Walmart but you might end up spending more due to the fact that they are of low quality.  Stick with Lowes or Home Depot, shop the sales and get a credit card with them if it will give you a discount and pay it off on time.

You house will look like you how much you spent on it remodeling it.....

  3. You do know that DIY stands for Dont involve yourself !!

  4. Are you wanting to buy border wall paper?  I am a little confused at your question, but if you are looking to buy wall paper borders, try looking at some of your local thrift stores first.  Most ppl over buy when they are remodeling and you can get some great deals-- @ my local thrift store, its $0.25 a roll, and the rolls are still in the original wrapper, so its BRAND NEW!!

As for the door...I would scrape it, its ok if all the paint doesn't come off, but i would make sure that the areas around where it is flaking is scrapped really really well or you're going to have the same problem!  Paint the entire door, not just spots too!  Make sure you clean the door first too, the paint has a hard time adhering to dust and debris!

    Good Luck, hope i helped?
