  1. I quite agree. With so many channels to watch now I think the BBC should be pay for view or have adverts

  2. So the rest of us can enjoy it!  Thanks very much!

  3. You should not have to. It's a throw back to the 1930s and 1940s when there was no other broadcaster.

It's the law but the law is an *** - see the comment from the 'judge' to prove it.

Complain to your MP - unless that is your MP is Labour  which is supported by the BBC.

It costs the taxpayer £4bn a year to run a de-facto monoploy in a competive market. So much for free markets.

  4. in my country -aka to you as a 3rd world country- we have 500 free view channels and no TV licence c**p but still you call us a 3rd world?! i find it unreasonable

  5. they have it well covered, they get you with the dvd/video/computer can pick them up and of course if you have a radio. Read the licence agreement it covers all recieving equipment these days

  6. The BBC is ace! Their programming is great, and by the way, people outside of Britain cannot watch the BBC's shows on the iPlayer, because it is configured to determine where you are.

  7. You have the opportunity to watch it, that is why you pay for a licence.  I prefer the BBC and hate the advertisements.  I suppose we are all different.

  8. It is regrettable that like you most people believe the licence fee just goes to make programs.

In fact a great % of the fee goes to providing the infrastructure for broadcasting. Tranmitters, satalites cables etc.

Without the licence fee the ability of any one to transmit would be greatly reduced.

  9. How about being a student though. I've just bought a TV license for nine months just for me. Even though I live in a shared house. They are taking the mickey. I'd buy a tv license for BBC Three thoughI love their shows.

  10. Aw...I bet you do really, just a little. I mean if you're not, what sort of rubbish are you watching? All the best programs are on  the BBC channels
