I download the 2.0 upgrade, but I still can't get downloaded apps on my ipod touch. Help please?

I got my ipod touch today, upgraded it to 2.0 and I put some music on it, downloaded some of the free apps and when I got to applications, they show up, but when I try to drag and drop them on my Ipod's name, it won't work... Can anyone help me?
