I downloaded Gimp 2.4.2, but something is wrong. I can't make anything!!!

Question

I installed and downloaded, but when I open it, all that shows up is the toolbox. How do I get the place where I draw?! It's confusing, and I have no idea what the I'm doing!!!!

There is an updated version of GIMP out now, it is now version 2.4.6.
