  1. no, it's not like that.  You can try it for free, and it'll run out in 60 days.  if you want to send them money, you can use it after that, otherwise you can delete it.

it's common in this industry - it's not like those offers where the first 30 days are free and you give them your credit card, and if you don't cancel within 30 days you're on the hook.

In the computer industry, you get to try it.  If it works, great.  It not, don't buy it.  They're not going to be knocking on your door at midnight.

  2. On the following page you can get 60 day trails for most of 2007 office applications such as Microsoft Word

    http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/suites...

After 60 days, you are going to have to buy the real thing orr illegal download a key. You can't continue downloading the 60 day trial because the trial/computer will remember you have used it before.

  3. They won't make you pay. They'll just disable your free trial.

    So don't worry about it.

  4. Not to worry.  After the 60 days, you just won't be able to use Word.  No one will come after you.

Unfortunately, this also means that any files you created with it are in a sort of computer limbo.  Fortunately, there are several things you can do about it.

If you do have files that are locked up in the new Word 2007 file format (.docx), here’s a possibility for salvaging them.  Microsoft offers a free Compatibility pack that allows earlier versions of Word to read Word 2007 files.  If you have access to an earlier version, this can at least give you back your documents.

On the other hand, if you’re interested in buying Word, check out this URL, especially the second group of listings.

    http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/produc...

Note that the higher of the two prices quoted is for a full version of that program and the lower, for upgrades from existing software.  Read the list of upgrade-qualifying software carefully:  MS Works is often one, and may have come on your machine.

Further, if you're a student, you may qualify for the Student/Teacher edition of Office.

    Good luck.

  5. After 60 days the trial version stops being able to edit documents, it is nothing to panic about.

  6. Use Openffice its legally free & compatible with Micro$oft Word, Excel, Powerpoint

Here is how to save files so you can open documents with Microshaft
