I downloaded a game from Limewire and it had a virus. Can I keep the game after I get rid of the virus?

I dont know if I keep the game on my pc if the virus will show up again cause the files are still there.

Because there was a trojan found by Avast, after I got rid of the virus, I uninstall the game fearing the virus would show up again in the game files or move to other files/folders on my pc. Can I keep the game after Avast got rid of the virus or would it show up again?? It would mean so much to me if someone could help me. I am the one that if an answer helps me,I will choose a best answer instead of Yahoo choosing one cause the user doesnt . You WILL get the points from me. I promise.

I strongly advise you to delete the game all files associated with it, and then run a virus scan. The virus could be integrated into the 'game'. Using Limewire to download games is always a risky choice. Try using a torrenter such as uTorrent or BitTorrent. You can then search for a torrent on the internet, and be sure it will not harvest a virus, as many torrents with have comments and reviews. Be sure to read these first before downloading. Hope this is of help.

If I was you, I would delete the whole game. Because that's how you got the virus in the first place, right? From the game? Try downloading the game from somewhere else.

Chances are the virus was part of a core aspect of a so called "game" file and the actual part, the non-infected part, is not included. If the game still runs then you should be able to keep it but I would get rid of it and try to find a different copy because other parts could still be in the remaining portion of the game.
