  1. Codec is short for COder DECoder.  The video has to be encoded in a file and you need the corresponding decoding software (a codec) to read it.  If you're being told which codec you need you can just google for it and download it.  If you're just being told that there's one missing, get hold of G-Spot, use it to find out which codec you need and go from there.

    If your video clip is in DivX or XviD I don't think WMM can handle it - you'll need to buy another editor.
