I downloaded a video of youtube and quicktime player wont let me put it on my ipod

Here's the problem: The file you downloaded is not compatible with a regular player, that kind of file is usually used to show a video in a web page. You need to convert that file in such a way that quicktime can understand it. There's a website that does everything for you, it's called vixy.net, just paste the youtube video URL, select "iPod" from the encoding options and hit the start button. It will transform (encode) the file to another one that can be read by quicktime/iPod and it will download it to your computer. Now just drag the new file into iTunes and voilà!

A lot of free converters and cheap converters if they don't have a proper decoder and encoder attached will do a hatchet job to make it work. Though the movie plays "Doesn't" necessarily mean its the right format.

you need to put it .mp4 format for videos. Use psp video 9 (very easy to use) or super. then just connect your ipod, and sync it on to your ipod.
