I downloaded an AVG anti-virus. do i need to update it?

Hey! No need to panic. Everything is automatic. And YES, you need to update regularly if you want to say protected. You only need to change a few settings. I'm assuming you've already installed it. In that case, you should see the AVG icon in the system tray (look to the far right of your taskbar). Double click this icon and the program window opens. The window that pops up displays the installed components of AVG - antivirus, antispyware, link scanner, resident shield, etc. Double Click on "Update Manager" and modify the settings to your taste. So, whenever you're connected to the internet, AVG will connect to the server at the specific time determined by you to download all critical updates, which are automatically installed and merged with your current database. Like I said, don't worry, everything is automatic. You can even manually update AVG by clicking "Update Now".

To further modify AVG to your specifications, go to "Tools", click "Advanced Settings", and another window pops up displaying the various options that can be modified. I suggest you take time to go through and understand the options. If you need more help, email me at [e-mail].

Is it a free trial download or you purchased  online  download version ?

If its a free trial, then at the end of the trial expiry you have to update it by purchasing a " product key code " then activate the AVG again with the new code.

If it was a purchased version , then just whenever you are connected to the internet it will prompt you for updates automatically. If not, you can manually have the AVG check for updates or play with the AVG settings to check for updates at a certain interval you would prefer it to do so..

Definitely u have to . thats a must . this will help u to capture the most recent viruses. after u connect to internet just open the antivirus and click update. thats all pa
