I drained the water from my above ground pool, If I go in to scrub the algea can it harm me if I touch it?

The water got too green so i decided to drain the pool water. I bought it the last week of April so it lasted us a good time. I will clean it and fill it up again to last till maybe September.

Some green algea water remains at the bottom. I will scrub it and am afraid that if I touch the algea it can harm me.

Can algea harm you?

not even a little bit. use bleach, it will kill it on contact. if you've ever swam in a lake or pond you've had plenty of algae between your toes!

Im sure Algae will not harm you in any way. It is not a pathogen or parasite. however, you should probably wear some gloves just in case there is some other organism growing there.

Nope.  Algae can be a little yucky to the touch, but it's not harmful.

No..it can't harm you but you did not need to drain your pool.  All you needed to do was run a clean filter 24/7 and shock the water with a good shock.  You need to make sure your water is balanced and you are using the proper chemicals so this does not happen again.

No, it can't harm you...just don't eat it :-)

I would suggest mixing dish soap, bleach, & water to clean.
