I don't think it was your friend.  Was there a message on the paper?

Maybe it was his angel or God letting you know he's okay.

There is a story in the Bible about Peter; he's been in prison, and an

angel lets him out.  Well Peter shows up at the home of his friends.

One of them answers the door, doesn't let him in, but shuts it, and tells everyone that it was just Peter's angel.  So maybe that means

that we have an angel that resembles us!  who knows?  but still,

I think you can take comfort in knowing that your friend is ok.
