  1. The snake is a difficult dream symbol because it is so widely interpreted

among various cultures.Interpretations run from blood curdling fear to wisdom and peace. These options are determined by literary history and folklore from different cultures as well as personal experience.

In waking it is not all that uncommon to be afraid of snakes. For some people, this fear is disruptive and pathological, even to the point that a photo of a snake represents an oppressive threat. For these people, snake dreams are almost always universally bad.

Among Asian and Native American Cultures (my Great Grandmother was a full blooded Cherokee), the snake is a symbol of wisdom. The idea of wisdom comes from the snakes ability to shed it's skin and renew itself. If one dreams of snakes from this perspective, it is a dream of renewal, problem solving, and good tidings in general.

In Judeo-Christian Cultures, the snake is a symbol of temptation, or spiritual opposition against reaching ones goals. This concept is derived from the bible when Satan tempts Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden in the form of a snake. Sometimes, a snake dreamt in this context will remind you of a particular person in your waking life in which you've had a competitive relationship.

Coming up with an insight interpretation for your dream snake can be tricky. What emotions are prevalent regarding the snake: fear, respect or opposition?

What is your attitude about snakes in waking life: neutral, fearful or friendly?

Did the snake appear when you were alone or were others with you when the snake entered the dream scene? If so what are your feelings toward those other people?

Answering these questions should lead you toward a productive interpretation of your snake dream.

as for the knife most psychologists consider the knife or dagger to be a symbol of male sexuality. It is also representative of masculinity  and its associations with violence and aggression. You may have repressed feeling of anger.

The knife can also be representative of the "sword of truth" the cuts through falsity and ignorance, or the will to cut away false desires.

If I were to put all this together, it seems to me that you may be trying to cut some negative person or thing out of your life. Someone around you may be trying to lead you astray and your subconscience is telling you to cut them from your life before you get hurt, this is the interpretation that I am seeing. Let me know what you see.

  2. It means you have danger in your life. You're afraid you might get hurt but you will respond with anger.

  3. Someone close to me  said if u see snakes in ur dream mean something nice is gonna happen in ur near future like a wedding of someone u kno or close to something rejoicing and etc...

anyone bcomming an parent or sumthin of tat sort..

  4. A cobra?  Cobras are known as 'good snakes' in many cultures.  A cobra will very rarely use venom on something it can't eat and offers plenty of warning before it strikes.  They are credited with the killings of rats and other snakes who are far more dangerous.

I would say though, your dream is telling you the most simple and well known of stories.  You knew that was a snake when you picked it up.  You may have cut off it's head, but you are already bit and will die.

Have care in what you do and who you associate with.  There might be a snake you are trying to handle, and it will kill you.

You should put the snake down before it bites you.

Edit: As the lady below me pointed out, the snake often symbolized ancient feminine wisdom.  You are being warned.  You know what the snake is, the cobra gives warning before it strikes.  You know what is coming if you don't put down the snake.
