Does this mean that I imagined/created it myself?

I remember reading that all the faces in your dreams are actually people you have seen, so is this the case for everything?

  1. You created the painting yourself in your dream, it is a symbol of your self-expression.  Have you recently realized anything of significance?  The painting could symbolize something you intuitively know but are not letting out.

  2. Paintings in an emotional response dream isn't usually a memory of a painting but indicates something about yourself.

A painting or mirror in a dream that reveals something other than a mirror image indicates how you believe other people see you. You would need to think about the painting in particular and associate it to feelings or images and how they apply to you. For instance bright reds could indicate passionate emotions, blues are blacks could be sadness.. etc. (It's how you individually see colors represented as emotions that matter) Any other emotions or images that you can remember would be relevant too.
