I lost, my cat on the 4th august. And i had to choose to have him put to sleep. I have dreamt, of him most nights. But The night before last, I dreamt of him in my back-garden, on a window sill, He jumped off onto the fence, went through to the front. I ran through my house, to the front, I found him then pick him & Gave him a huge big hug, In my arm.

What does this mean?!

  1. somebody stole my cat i know how it feels to have them in your dreams

  2. It means your finally at peace with his death, and that was his goodbye to you.

  3. I had dreams about my old cat that he didn't like where I buried him. One of the dreams was digging up under the lemon tree. An old friend once gave me a rose quartz crystal so I soaked it in sea water and buried the crystal under the tree. the dreams stopped but felt more at peace now with his death. It up to you to find what will work for you to come to terms with the cats death.

  4. he said goodbye :)

  5. It means you miss him so much that the cat's soul has become trapped in your dreams and will always be in the background of every dream you have in the future, always trying to escape your Dreamland.

  6. It probably means you are coming to terms with his passing. I'm sorry for your loss. Just know it was a loving and humane thing you did to end his suffering. He was telling you thanks and he is in a better place.

  7. It just means that you miss your cat.

He's too busy chasing mice in kitty heaven to bug you while you're trying to sleep any more.

I'm sure you gave him a great life.  Remember the good times, he wouldn't want you to be sad.

When I was younger and my dog died I had a dream that I dug him up and found out he was alive and healthy.  He jumped out of the hole and ran around and played. That was creepy and unsettling.  I don't think he was trying to contact me or anything, I was just obsessing.  It's been 13 years since then and I still miss him and I miss all the kitties who have passed too but they were wonderful pets and great family members.  I feel lucky that I got as much time as I did with them and it reminds me to not take my current kitties for granted.

Don't stress about the dreams, I'm sorry for your loss.

  8. Losing a pet is an awful experience, I'm so sorry, especially to have to make that choice to put them to rest...

Sounds to me like kitty understands and he's paying you visits in your dreams to show he still loves you + is trying to help you come to terms with what happened.

I don't know if you believe in life after death, even for animals, but I am certain myself that there is a heaven for them that is a truly wonderful place, where they play, nap, and eat to their hearts' content until one day they are reunited with us.

I also have a friend who swears by the fact that he thinks his new cat is a reincarnation of a very beloved cat he lost before.

  9. I had a cat for 12 years and I loved her more than anything. She was an indoor cat and got outside on the 4th of July back in 2002. I never saw her again and would dream about her regularly, she was always happy and purring. We have moved since then, last spring I was outside in the driveway leaning on my car, I felt a cat rubbing against my leg and thought it was the cat we have now but she was nowhere to be seen so I thought it was my imagination. Then I know this sounds crazy, but my cat that I lost used to purr in my ear, after I looked around and there were no cats around, I leaned on my car again and distinctively heard purring in my ear. Again there were no cats around and it sounded so real and so loud I put my hand by my ear like I used to do with her and the purring stopped. I have heard it once since then so I think maybe that was her way of telling me she is ok and in a better place. That is what I think your cat is trying to tell you. I still have dreams about her occasionally and welcome them because it makes me feel like she is still a part of my life if not physically, at least spiritually. Good luck to you and I hope you get to have more dreams with your cat in them.

  10. it could mean that you are sad that it is gone, and that is normal, also you could be regretting putting it to sleep. It going to be o.k, you could talk to your doctor about having the dreams and see if he has medication!

    hope i can help

  11. It sounds like you're dealing with his loss, even though this is a difficult thing.  I still occasionally dream of the cat I lost two years ago, at first the dreams were difficult to deal with and caused a lot of anxiety.  Gradually they became sweet and pleasant dreams, kind of like looking at old photos.  I still cry sometimes when I think of him but the loss is easier to handle.
