  1. use dirt bike tie downs, they work like magic

  2. I have an 05 jeep wrangler soft top. My dad bought me racks for my b-day and we just kinda of made them work. the parts above the windows that have the k**b that hold I think the trim around the window (lol), he put some extra wood under the rack so they would fit in the wholes. for my own extra support i use a ratchett strap on the back part just to make sure they don't go anywhere.... Prior to having the racks built for me, i use to just use ratchett straps and tied them down. hope that helps you alittle. I saw driving down the road the other day some board racks on a softtop jeep that I guess bolted into the bumpers and came over the top of the jeep. It might have been a do it yourself type job but it was the first time i saw that.

  3. I had a 95 softtop... this is how I transported my 8' 6" longboard...

Take the passenger seat and move it all the way forward.

Then take the back rest and lay it all the way down.

I then took a bungee cord and hooked it to my 3rd brake light and to the spare tire bumper thing that is is just below the right brake light. Worked great for 10 years until I got my Liberty!
