I drive without a license?

ok i have been trying to get my permit for like a year and i always fail my test! im 17 and 6 months should i just wait till im 18..o do u still have to get ur permit even if ur 18?? i live in california

If you are failing your test, you can't practice your driving.  If you drive without a license or permit, you will be ticketed and your car impounded for 30 days.  Yes, even at 18 you have to have a permit to take the driving test.  I'd suggest you actually read the drivers manual, the permit test is NOT that hard to pass.

allready at 17 and a half you can get a permit without drivers training.

im pretty sure when your 18 there is some different rules, but i think you could get a lisence without a permit, but there might be some restrictions for the first 6 months

In CA, once you are 18 you need to pass the DMV written test, eye test, and road test & of course pay the fees.

I know several kids who do it this way to avoid paying for the training.  I think its wrong for CA to allow this because people who don't get training don't automatically become good drivers.  Please stay off the road at least until you are licensed.  Its extremely dangerous for the rest of us, let alone its against the law.  Since you can not buy a car until you are licensed in CA you must be using someone elses. Should you get in an accident, not only you but the car's owner will be held liable.  Be patient, be responsible, be mature and either wait or get more training. You don't need to ruin your life or anyone elses!

Maybe have someone like you dad or whoever take you out practice driving.....take soem driving lessons and other things you need to do to get a  licence.

Keep practicing and keep trying. If your permit test is question and answer then study really really hard and just keep trying. Try using flashcards or other study techniques. If it's a driving test then you just need more practice. Get someone you respect to go driving with you and give you pointers. Good luck :)

Driving without a permit or license in the State of California has some pretty serious consequences:

     1.  Heavy fines

     2.. Judge can delay the issuance of a driver's license until you reach 25 years of age

     3.  Insurance will not cover the damages should you have an accident

    4.  If you have an accident, regardless of who causes it, you are automatically responsible

I would suggest that you not drive until you can get your permit or a license.

Always drive with a license or at least a permit. However inconvenient it may be to forgo driving yourself, driving without a license will make things worse if you are ever pulled over by the police or have an accident.

that's not what he asked people, he asked if he should get the permit now or just wait til he's 18 to apply for his license. Well I'm from Colorado snd here you have to hold your permit for 1 full year before you can apply for your license. But if you are 18 you can just apply for a license without even applying for a permit so if it's the same there then there is no reason to get your permit

I gess you don't know that if you gett pulled ove at 18 with your drivers license you can't drive until your 21!!!!
