I dropped my EnV halfway into water for about 2 seconds.?

I grabbed it immediately, dried it with a towel, and then pulled the battery out. The inside of the phone has a little white circle with red x's. The battery has a little circle that is medium pink.

My phone is sitting in a bowl of rice- and I vacuumed it prior. What are the chances it will work again?

  1. Let the phone sit in rice for 24 hours.  The phone will probably start working again. There is no guarantee the phone will be 100% perfect.  Try the steps below too:

    (2) As soon as possible (preferably within 20-30 minutes). dissassemble the phone using Torx T6 screwdriver. (Get this off eBay or service depots, etc) Make an emergency trip to Sears/RadioShack/ACE/service depot/etc.

    (3) Clean/dry as much as you can, using Q-Tips

    (4) Dry the electronics components under a desk lamp on a paper towel for 24 hours.

    (5) Use a blow dryer, set on warm. Blow dry the phone. Make sure your battery and sim card are out of the phone.

    (6) Reassemble the phone

    (7) Put back together

    (8) Only now it's safe to put the battery back in.

You can also leave the battery and sim out. Leave your phone out in the sun. Let it dry

  2. it will work just fine.

    just DON'T turn it on.

i have that exact phone and dropped it in the toilet for about 5 seconds.

    just make sure to vacuum,

and try hair drying it without the battery.

and make sure the battery is out when it is in the rice.

mine worked just fine after i let it dry out all the way for a few days.

  3. Make sure its THOROUGHLY dry before you even think about powering it up.  Putting it into the fridge may help.  If you have water in the screen, it may be impossible to remove it.

Just do it slowly - it may even take weeks, but the alternative.......
