I dropped my digital camera, now the lens won't expand out and won't turn on completely, i hear gears turning!

i dropped it, now when i try to turn it on, the lens won't move out like it does, so it shuts back off....any help!?!? i can hear the lens' gears trying to turn it, but it's stuck!

Take it back to the store.  If it's under warranty, you're golden.  Otherwise, the repair bill is likely to be staggering.

Mine did the same thing when it got sand in it at the beach. It was old so i went ahead and got a new one. I would suggest bringing it in before you do more damage by messing with it. Good Luck.

The warranty doesn't cover abuse, and dropping it is abuse.  It would cost almost as much to fix it as to buy a new one, depending on what camera you have.   You can call the company and see if they can give you an estimate.  Sorry you broke it.
