Question:

I dropped my hamster... :\?

He fell only a couple inches but he hit the opening part of his cage... he's still eating and moving and everything, but everytime I try to touch him he runs, but I think it's because he's scared... (he was running away earlier too) Do you think he'll be ok? He's not squeeking, and he doesn't look in pain... Will he hate me for all eternity for dropping.. I already could never pick him up (too fast, and too skiddish)

Also, is there a chance that he could be afraid of fireworks/thunder? Because there was a firework yesterday, and he's been acting kind of jumpy sense then.

  1. you really need to be more careful with your pets!

    gosh!

and most pets are afraid of loud noises. so this seems quite normal.

and think about how you would feel if you were dropped by a giant??! would you liked to be dropped?!?!!? I DONT THINK SO!

you don't want your mom dropping you when your little.

  2. I'm sure he's fine. And yes he can be afraid of fireworks. Our dog is scared to death of thunder :)

  3. He seems to be ok. The fireworks could have done it. Just leave him alone for the next day or two, then start a fresh with him.

  4. your hamster should be fine...loud noises isn't natural for him. Some hamsters take longer to adjust before calming down and letting you pick them up.

  5. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one that's dropped a hamster. I dropped mine and by the next day she was eating out of my hand again. I guess it'll depend on how comfortable he was with you before he had his accident. I'm sure he'll come around just pay attention to him, but don't try to pick him up if he doesn't want to be. I would suggest putting your hand in his cage for a little bit each day so he can get use to you.

He could be afraid of fireworks. Dogs are so why couldn't hamsters be.

    Hope I helped!
