I dropped my iPhone 3G in a river?

Yesterday I was at my friends house and we went down to a river and I called my friend to see where he was and my iPhone slipped out of my hand and into the river. I luckily got it out with a rake but it failed to turn on. We dried it with a hair dryer and tried to charge it but still nothing has happened. I was in total shock, at first we found it funny but when it hit us i had no idea what I should do and i have lost all my music, contacts, messages.... Does anyone know what I could do to get it working again?

  1. Sorry, but you are out of luck.  Your best bet is to bring it to the Apple store and see if they can fix the phone, but they will likely have to replace the hard drive and then you might as well buy a new phone. :-(

  2. why spend money on an iphone when you can get it for free? just go to this site and complete a few quick tasks and they'll send you one!

  3. Just leave it for a few days in a dry place. Sometimes these things just work themselves out. Don't mess with it too much right now.

Is it under warranty still? (Does that even cover falling into a river..?)
