I dropped it about two feet out of my window. Is it ok to run or does it need repaired?

  1. If it makes no funny noises and works (freon has not leaked out) it won't hurt to run it. You need to check the fan to be sure it isn't hitting anything before you try it.

  2. The same thing happened to me. I was so angry because it was brand new and I had never even turned it on and I dropped the dang thing out the window! Mine is working fine.

  3. If you mean the frills, the tiny aluminum "gills" in the back... if they're smooshed, take a comb or something and straighten them out.  They should be fine.  I had a friend of mine that reconditions A/C's, and he said that's the simplest thing you can do to improve performance, is to straighten those things out.  Air needs to move through them, it's like having a clog in your bathtub drain - your tub is better when the water can drain!

  4. yes it is, same thing happend to me but i had alot of small dents, i dont know how big your dents are though...

  5. it may be suffering internal damage in which case "running it" can cause further harm..........remember .........a stitch in time ...........get it checked out by a reputable tech

  6. It should run fine, but it may hum a little louder than usual
