I want to do Aeronautical engineering at Imperial College and it came to my attention that doing further maths will increase my chances of getting into there but it was not compulsory. So... after i finished my AS-levels (psychology, maths, chemistry, physics) and decided to take up further maths 2 weeks later than the rest of the year 13s. Unfortunately, the further maths group was almost 3 books ahead of me. Fortunately, I can join with next years year 12's to do 2 books but 1 book i have to do myself in the summer right now...I never used to have much problems in maths but now, i have more problems than i used to have, now i am starting to think if i made a mistake. My math teacher says she will help me with this book i am working on this summer in september when i go back to school though. did i make a mistake? i was the top person in my maths class, i dont want to drop. Should i have kept doing psychology?

  1. Ask the counselor at your current school.  They can determine what courses you need better than anybody here could.  They have access to things like your transcript which is something anybody answering this question would need to have in their hand.

  2. no, honestly i think if you want to do something in engineering, doing all the math courses you can right now will really benefit you a lot more than a pyschology class. just work hard and you will be successful. :)
