I eat cereal as my meal is it bad for you?i only eat one meal a day?

i only eat once a day...cereal is wat i basically eat...through out the day i just drink water or juices and in dinner time i eat a cereal would i gain weight?

  1. eat at min of 3 meals a day 5 smaller meals with a large breakfast is the best. it's not bad but not good enough. you need many vitamins. an greens are the best. if you do that for a long time without eating normal meals your bone structure and muscle tissue will begin to break down. then many more serious problems after that.

  3. You have to eat more than once a day.

    One eats for nutrients, and energy.  Cereal sure, has some, but it is not, in one mean going to be near enough for your day!

    I was always told, for breakfast eat like a king, for lunch eat like a queen, and dinner eat like a begger.

    Not that I follow that, but maybe I should...

  6. firstly eating one meal a day will cause a slow metabolism which would make you heavier than if you ate 3 meals a day. the healthiest way to eat would be 3 meals a day plus snacks (they dont have to be big meals!) alot of people also do 5 small meals a day  - the common factor is to eat little and often - doing that wont make you gain weight it will prob make you loose! one meal a day is the worst way to go about it - your body is not egtting anywhere near enough calories to function properly!

    secondly it depends wat type of cereal your eating. cereal as a meal is not unhealthy if its full of grains like porridge or muesli, and with skim or low fat milk. but alone cereal does not contain the vitamins and minerals you need to function, love healthy and loose weight. usually full of sugar, cereal will prob be causing weight gain! but as its all your eating id say its doing more harm than good as your body struggles to draw all the nutrients it needs from the one meal a day your eating!

    at some point you will have to eat more if your going to have any energy at all! so i suggest cereal for breakfast, a salad for lunch with tuna or chicken (lean protein) and veggies and lean meat for dinner. less carbs in the evening will increase your chances of staying slim while still getting the energy you need. eat your carbs in the form of cereal at breakfast.

    good luck and from someone who know how you body can suffer from not eating enough of the right foods - eat more healthy please!!

  10. omg yes it's bad for you if that's ur only meal, but i have a feeling you think gaining weight is bad for you, if you're active and balance your intake you wont gain much weight, think of food as fuel, you need different foods in the day to get the right fuel to each body part and too much of one can hurt the others just like too little of one can hurt, if you don't feed it enough it starts training itself to store food to fuel itself when there isn't any coming in, so by not eating enough u train ur body to put on weight when u do eat so it can prepare for when u don't eat enough

It might be good for a short amount of time if you want to loose weight fast for a special occasion but to eat cereal for meal as a lifestyle is definite not a good choice since your your body will be missing out important nutrition and it might lead to serious damage to the body over time.

One meal a day is simply not healthy.  My question is why?  Your body needs fuel, it is your vehicle through life and each day must be fueled properly.  If you ate the cereal for breakfast and then had small 1/4 portions even 4 or 6 times a day with moderate exercise you would not gain weight.  You would; however, be healthy, happy, have more energy and definitely not worry about weight.

  13. Eating cereal is not bad for you, but eating just once a day IS. The average person is supposed to eat three balanced meals a day. With exercise of course. I have currently cut all of the sugar out of my diet. No soda, no candy, no ice cream. That combined with regular daily exercise, I've already lost weight. You can too. But starving yourself isn't the way to do it.
