  1. The twilight series by Stephenie Meyer. The 1st is twilight, then new moon, then eclipse, then breaking dawn. It is about a human girl that falls in love with a vampire. They are amazing!! I couldn't put them down!!

  2. Try These

Inkheart and Inkspell by Cornelia Funkt

    Ingo series by Helen Dunmore

    Eragon series

The Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind starts with Wizards First Rule

The Dark Tower series by Stephen King starts with The Gunslinger

    All the Harry Potter books

  3. I really enjoyed the Harry Potter books, even though i started out as as skeptic. The first few are at a lower reding level which make them a little less challanging but still enjoyable. Once you get into the later books they get really interesting with character development and good plot twists. Its interetsting to see how a 7 book story arch plays out...its not an easy task

As far as some other fantasy series i would recommend The Lies of Locke Lamora its basically a cross between Pirates of the Caribbean and Oceans 11, that sounds crazy but its true. It’s about a gang of thieves that pull big con artist jobs but something more sinister is going on as well. Lots of good action intrigue plot twists and its super smart and funny. The second in the 7 book series just came out....Red Seas Under Red Skies and it is really good as well

I am also 2 books into the First Law Trilogy by Joe Abercrombie. Those are two really good books...they are fairly violent so be warned if thats not your thing...but they have a good dark sense of humor and an interesting storyline...there are lots of main characters and its cool to see how thier stories weave together throughout the novels. the last book is out in the UK now and will be out in the US in September

The Eragon series is pretty good as well. a bit predictable but a fun read none the less.

  4. omg yah! the harry potter books are amazing!! my mom bought me the first book a long time ago and when i finished reading it i immediately got the other ones that were out. these books will have u reading from start to finish. if you liked the movies you will def like the books (they are much better than the movies!). um for fantasy try eragon-christopher paoloni and tithe-holly black.i've heard they are suppoused to be good books.

  5. I agree with the person who posted before me, CS Lewis is great.

Harry Potter? FANTASTIC. I highly recommend that series.  JK Rowling created a world that no one had ever seen before, and she's famous and rich for it. And rightly so. Amazing series.

If you're looking for a fantasy love story/sort-of-thriller, I recommend Twilight as well.

  6. It depends, but I also enjoyed Tolkiens works.

I found the Terry Goodkind series a good read, or Robert Jordans wheel of time series.

David Eddings might be good for you to read as well.

The Belgariad and Malloreon are awesome series. Definately a series i can recommend to you.

Also fantasy, but a much different way than any of the previous ones would be Terry Pratchetts DiscWorld series. Funny, hilarious, and guaranteed to change your views on common fairytale personalities :)

Harry Potter series is a good read, although less so, in my personal opinion, than David Eddings.

Still, the books are good enough to want to read the next, and the next, and the next...

The movies are, in my humble opinion, a far cry from what could have been though.

  7. it's titled "The Silmarillion" (just a minor correction).  If you enjoyed those books, you should read some of Tolkien's essays on fantasy and myth "On Fairy Stories", as well as C.S. Lewis's views of the fantastic.  You may find what they really think very surprising.  I studied each of them in Oxford this summer and visited the pubs and homes of The Inklings while I  was abroad.
