There were two lanes on a busy street business area. I was on the and the garbage truck was ahead of me and started to pick up garbage from the streets. I noticed the truck, slowed down and signaled left to go in the left lane. But the DMV examiner yelled at me and asked what I was doing. Later he said I was not supposed to signal and just pass the truck..? But it physically wasn't possible for me to squeeze through. I'm just confused right now..what was the right thing for me to do??

  1. he full of **** go complain to the person who runs that dmv. tell your story and say you want another test with sumone who isnt a complete douche

  2. He's an idiot and has no business being a driver's examiner, you did the right thing. If (and I said "IF") it was impossible for you to squeeze through (narrow street?), turning your flashers on and stopping to wait. However most streets have enough room, even if you have to go off a couple inches or so. I said that because when the streets here were re-paved (after a sewer system with man holes, ect. was put in), they made the streets 6 inch narrower on each lane. That examiner needs to calm down. A lot of people signal when changing lanes. The way I see it, you did the right thing.  Our town marshal is a buddy of mine, the senator was once  the county sheriff and before that, he was out town marshal.  Good luck on the re-testing, with the right person, you'll pass.

  3. No it does not sound right at all, you did right by using your signals and I dont know what he is talking about.

  4. yelled at you? That guy is crazy. I would have punched him in the face if I were you.
