I failed my permit?!?!?!!? Am I the only one?

Question

I failed my permit and I feel such great shame. I am unable to focus on my schoolwork, and I feel like giving up on everything in life!!

Don't most people pass their permits on the first try? If I can't even pass my permit, how will I ever even get into college?

Did anyone else fail? Did you feel horrible?

When I was 16 I passed my permit the first time but I failed my driver's test once. Don't feel bad. Alot of people fail the permit test. Just study the book. You already know what types of questions are on the test. You probably won't get the same test but the questions are probably similar.

You want to give up on everything in life because you didn't pass a test that you can just study harder for and take again? How did you ever get the idea that just because you fail one test you are automatically incapable of succeeding in anything ever?

I'm sorry, but if this is how you're going to react to failure for your whole life then you're in for some hard times. Everyone fails occasionally. All that matters is that you try harder next time.

I failed my permit test the first time. I did not feel horrible because I could retake it in a week and I now knew what I needed to study so I was 100 % sure I was going to pass.

Lol. Chill!  I failed mine the first time. Most of my friends failed at least once. Its not a big deal. I didn't really care much. Just study more next time.

I passed both my permit and drivers test on the first time. My sister, on the other hand, failed her permit test 9 times and finally passed on the 10th. Now, that is something to be embarrassed about. Don't be embarrassed about failing it 1 time. It is no big deal and you will probably pass next time. Best of luck to you.

i didn't feel horrible...just a little upset. i went home studied more can when i went back to retake it and passed!

don't worry my friend failed it 7 times before she got it, and now she drives fine. besides that's not the test you should be worried about, the driving test is more about skills this test you failed was about words. when your on the road which one is going to count? honestly.

ok relax! take a deep breath, okay now, dont worry, alot of people fail, and you dont need a permit or license to get into college, just study harder and take it again

i failed mine the first time and i felt horrible

you have to wait one week

in that week i thought about the questions i got wrong

then finally came to realize

its ok. just study and try harder

i did just that and take your time!!!!

don't rush through it

think about it

and be confident!

you will pass it next time for sure!

You're being MUCH too emotional about this! Thousands, if not millions of teenagers fail their learner's permit exam every year. It's no big deal & certainly doesn't suggest that you'll fail everything else you try. I only missed 2 out of 30 questions on mine, but that was because I studied the booklet NON STOP for about 2 months before I finally got it. My younger brother ran a red light on his road test. Yet we're both safe, defensive drivers today.

Colleges don't care about your driving abilities. Heck, a lot of the students at my school (Liberty University) are foreign and can't drive in the US anyway, and others don't bring their cars to campus b/c registration is ridiculously expensive.

Get over it. Study hard & try again in a few weeks.
