I fainted last night - what would cause this?

I have been REALLY stressed out lately, and I was rehashing what has been going on with me with a friend on MSN last night. Toward the end of the conversation, I got really dizzy and couldn't breathe, and I remember gasping and sort of leaning over and then I woke up - I had fallen our of my computer chair, my head was wet where I had knocked over my water, and I had a ringing in my head. Could this be a severe sort of panic attack or something else I should worry about?

I don't have insurance and can't afford a doctor. So yes, I should go... but I just can't right now.

  1. Maybe you were drunk?

  2. Hello there,

One of the best things I found for dealing with stress was meditation.

I went through a period of my life where I literally had a breakdown because of stress and was off work for months because of it.

During this time I was offered all sorts of drugs and the like by doctors which I turned down.  One of my friends mentioned meditation and how they had heard it was really good with stress.

I found a local group, signed up and started to learn to meditate.  I now attend a group every week and meditate daily and found that my stress levels have dropped significantly and that I am able to cope through situations where I wouldn't have in the past.

If you're suffering from stress, then try meditation, it's a really good way of reducing your stress levels.

Hope that helps you out! :)

  3. It's possible it is to do with your blood pressure. Try avoiding making sudden movements like getting up really fast from a sitting position. Drink green tea, i find that helps.

  4. Hi,

If you feel a panic attack or feelings of anxiety creeping up on you then try this word repetition technique that I learned that helps me to quickly 'snap out' of my panic attacks:

I simply repeat the words 'cream cake' over and over in my head as quickly as I can without stopping.    You could use any word or words you like really but that's what I chose (because I like cream cakes).  It apparently works because it doesn't give your brain time to process the panicky thoughts and so helps you to relax again.  Seems strange I know ... but it works for me!

There's also a free ebook that I found really useful called 'Get Rid of Panic and Anxiety for Good'. If you want to take a look you can find it at: http://curepanicattacks.premiergold.info...    Even though I got it for free it has helped me absolutely loads!

  5. It sounds to me like a bad panic attack, or you could have been getting so worked up you lost track of your breathing, we faint so that our body can only concentrate on breathing and getting our breathing pattern back on track, so I think you were forgeting to breath or not taking deep enough breaths, also you might have abit of low blood pressure.. Mention it to your Dr next time you go I wouldnt worry about it though.. Good Luck
