I am 4 months pregnant and yes have already seen my gynecologist we agreed that it is most likely a drop in blood sugar combined with standing up causing decreased circulation of the blood. By the end of the week it will either confirm hyperglycemia or anemia.

But until I am listening to him and not eating sugary foods but I still have dizzy spells and headaches. What should I do. I already tried tylenol.

  1. You should not be waiting for such results. These results take minutes to get not days ! And if they are ok you need to see a cardiologist

    ASAP!

  2. What you need to do is this; get a couple of chocolate pudding cups, tape a small TV to the top of your husband's head, lay down in the most comfortable position, open the pudding cup, and tell your husband to go to the town while you watch a good movie.

  3. Lay down with your feet elevated by a couple of pillows... have a light snack... and when you are laying down, place a cool cloth on your forehead and rest.

  4. It sounds like you and your doctor have a pretty good idea as to what's going on.  I actually suffered from the same things in the beginning of my pregnancy and still have occasional problems with this.  My blood pressure has been relatively low during my pregnancy and my blood sugar/iron levels get low very easily.

The best thing you can do is to take your time getting up whenever you stand up, take it easy and get a lot of rest and fluids in your body.

As far as headaches, this is very common in pregnancy unfortunately.  Try taking a nice warm steamy shower to relax.  You might be getting migraine's, something I ended up getting a lot through this pregnancy.  My doctor told me to simply take 1-2 tylenol with a can of coke or some sort of caffeinated beverage.  But always, talk with your doctor before taking any of this advice.  It's definitely something to bring up at your next appointment.  Also congratulations!
